ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
"Many are applauding Julie-Anne as a significant new find"
- IrishARTGroup Post
A fine and applied arts graduate from the
University of Ulster, Belfast, Julie-Anne is
an artist working and living in the
Causeway Coast and Glens borough of
Northern Ireland. After a 6 year career in
youth and community work, Julie-Anne
returned to study art education at the
university of Ulster, Coleraine and further
specialised in special educational needs.
Combining her art practice with experience
in education and community work, Julie-
Anne has been successfully providing
workshops and classes throughout schools
and organisations in N.Ireland for the past
10 years. Under the simple philosophy of
'Paint, Create & Experiment' her hope is to
make art accessible to all with lessons
tailored to suit every need and ability.
Julie-Anne has had her work exhibited in
galleries and exhibitions throughout Ireland,
with the subject varying from landscapes,
people and wildlife to simple beauty found in
everyday objects. Not wanting to be tied to a
single medium, Julie-Anne uses the layering
of vibrant colour to create movement and
texture giving her work a signature style.
For Julie-Anne making a painting is all about
communication and story telling, where the
line and structure narrates the piece and the
colour sets the mood.
"I want you to stand back to see the bigger picture
but step forward and touch to become involved."
